Elder Fred Earles Passes

Elder Fred Earles, former Michigan Conference Secretariat, passed to his rest on Sabbath, September 14, 2024 in Grand Ledge, Michigan.

Earles began his ministry in Iowa in 1974, serving as a pastor in Iowa, Missouri, and Arizona before transitioning to the Michigan Conference. From 1989 to 1992, he pastored the Cedar Lake Church before accepting the position of Executive Secretary for the Michigan Conference, a role he held until 2007.

In 2008, Earles served as the Michigan Conference Sabbath School Director for two years. He later returned to pastoral ministry in 2011, where he served until retiring in 2013. Altogether, he devoted nearly 40 years to church ministry, touching many lives along the way.

Even after retirement, his commitment continued, as he served as a voluntary chaplain for the Michigan Conference.

He is survived by his two sons, David (Cheri); Rick (Lisa), and four grandchildren. His wife, Myrna, who passed away in 2019, served as the Michigan Conference Women's Ministries Director. Together, they were a strong team in ministry.

A memorial service will be held at the Grand Ledge Seventh-day Adventist Church on September 27 at 4:00 p.m., followed by light refreshments and a time of sharing. The address is listed below.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial gifts to be made to the Michigan Conference Evangelism Fund.
