Michigan Conference Appoints New Health Ministries Co-Directors

The Michigan Conference is pleased to announce the appointment of Melanie and Dr. Michael Quion as Health Ministries Co-Directors of the Michigan Conference.

 

Their appointment was confirmed by the Michigan Conference Executive Committee on May 21, 2024. They will officially begin their roles in September 2024, succeeding Vicki Griffin, who retired in July 2023.

In their new roles, Melanie will serve as the full-time director, while Dr. Michael Quion will assist part-time, continuing his medical practice alongside his new responsibilities.

About Melanie Quion

Melanie is a registered nurse with a rich background in both clinical and academic settings. She has served in various capacities at Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI, Weimar University in Weimar, CA, and Loma Linda University School of Nursing in Loma Linda, CA. Most recently, she has worked as a case manager for hospice patients and their families at Corewell Health in St. Joseph, MI.

Melanie brings a wealth of experience that includes experience in palliative care and working at Weimar University and Dr. Neil Nedley’s Depression and Anxiety Recovery Program. She has also participated in numerous health ministry initiatives including AMEN (Adventist Medical Evangelism Network) and has been involved with community-based lifestyle immersion programs. Additionally, she serves as an executive committee member and chair of Hydrotherapy Hub, an online hydrotherapy educational program.

About Dr. Michael Quion

Dr. Michael Quion is a board-certified family practice physician with a diverse background in medical practice across Michigan, California, and Utah. Most recently, he has been serving as a family practice physician at Corewell Health in Berrien Springs. Dr. Quion has also been involved in health ministry, serving as medical director for a CHIP program at the Clairmont Seventh-day Adventist Church in San Diego and has been involved with the "Dinner with the Doctor" initiatives at Weimar University and in Michigan, providing community members opportunities to engage with healthcare professionals.
